generation gap
if u guys read sunday star especially the second last page of the starmag, you will notice a coloumn called "the gap", which is about articles send in by readers. well it is interesting that they tell a lot of stuff that we all teens and parents alike are familiar with, which is the problems and clashes happened in our generation gap…
well personally i have also invovled in this "war of the worlds", u c, teens always complain that they have no freedom, parents dont understand them, they dont give them trust, chance to express their opinion, "dictatorship", etc…. on the parents side, they always think they are right (almost), their children dont respect them anymore, the whole change of their children and you name it…..
well, peeps we understand that the generation gap all started with the fact that we all live in the different era during our teenage years. different cultures were adapt, different opinions arise, diffent principles have been produced, and it just… different. therefore, respect, understanding and compromise is the key of closing the gap or at least make the gap smaller….
so this is an unevitable prob every1 would face, except u really life in a happy family, then it would be so wonderful…. anyway, however bad ur relationship with ur parents, they r still ur parents, just dont remember to keep in touch with them!!!!

i think that sometimes it is pretty much dependent on the parents in the aspects of generation gaps. of course, it’s true that teens would always think that parents don’t understand them and all, but sometimes it’s just so true, you know. some parents always say, “hey, we were young, too!” but somehow, most of them have forgotten how it was like to be young. besides, the culture of the whole society back then when they were young was different from what we’re seeing right now, and parents need to see that, and learn that these changes are inevitable. my parents did their part, i’m glad to say. at least they tried to accept new concepts, and that’s what i think every parent out there should do. as for children such as ourselves, do not hesitate to give parents a chance to explain themselves, and a chance for them to listen to your side of the story. generation gap? there’s no need for it.
