Stuck in a moment

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

You never believe this: This morning I went down to get something from my hostel block using the life in the faculty. After a short moment, a sudden thud and I’m stuck in a lift!

Yes peeps, I’m stuck in a lift, a typical scene in cantonese serials that i would not even thought of first habd experience after millions of elevator rides.  After calling my friend to tell him where I am, ringing the deafening emergency bell for like almost half and hour, i finally sat down just waiting. Reflections always only can be done while you are forced to do nothing. It makes you think about questions like, what have i done? what person I am now? what do I want? hows my future going to be?

OK, enough of the philosophical things, there are a few things I learnt from this incident, mainly about friendships:

1. Always go to lifts (or other places)with a company. You never know what you will encounter.

2. Some friends are there when needed, others are only there when you are needed.

3. Sometimes its ok to be alone, sometimes you just need to have someone to talk to.

4. Friendships lasts longer if a problem and hardship is solved together. friendships will end faster if the relationship is only filled with interesting conversations and just just talk crap.

5. You just can’t live without a friend in life, at least companion to accompany you in this journey.

At most of all, i really appreciate my freedom now! hehe see you guys soon!

Christmas Cheer!

Monday, December 26th, 2005

Yep it’s dat time again its christmas yippie!!! going back at home is my usual routine to this holiday season…. it feels good to be home…...

Came to my aunt’s house for a hearty meal …… really… there’s yong tau foo, pasta, roasted chicken, salad, oh god just hearing it makes my mouth water….. to top it of we even have cakes for dessert….ahh…..

And yes there are presents….! personally i don’t mind about christmas presents…. coz my mum are always puzzled on wat presents should she give to our aging cousins…. usually toys will do the trick when we were younger, as the years gone by our gifts range from clothing to cds and souveniers….. this year i just got a calvin and hobbes book from my sister, i gave her a set of jigsaw puzzle as an exchange

christmas really end so soon…. we have to save all the tree decorating and carol singing till next year, anyway life is about giving and sharing, and be with the ones you love……

Work, work, work

Monday, December 19th, 2005

Really, people have a lot of work to do, regradless of who you are, its just the tasks are different. Employees work for employers, students work for teachers, or for their future, even mums run errands at home…… the work never ends in your life……

Really everyone wants a big vacation, and everyone deserves it, but all the work just bogged you down until you do not have air to breathe. sheesh i need a break….. but its never going to happen soon……

I remember a reverend once said to me (how shameful of me for a rare church goer to quote something from the church): "Life is like a never ending race, we race for money, for love the most of all racing against time….." yes, life is life a never ending race …. but we are not sure the finishing line is….. mostly in this case we race to get things done……

There’s more work to do in life! once you have done one, the other comes in to take its place….. just remember to take a break once a while….. see you

The Barbed Fence

Thursday, December 15th, 2005

This poem is inspired by the newly added wires on the gate between the boys and the girls hostel. here goes:

The fence has some barbed wires

Is sending a warning like a burning fire

It can penertrate an old tyre

It can, stop people from climbing over

The fence provided protection

Though we feel their intention

What it really does is diverting attention

From things that we should have prevention

The barbed fence sends out fear

It sends out a message that’s so clear

it tells us not to go near

As the cuts will make you shed a tear

Because of You

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

This is a song performed by Kelly Clarkson. a really meaningful song that talks about past relationships and how to recover from it.

Because of You

I will not make the same mistakes that you did
I will not let myself cause my heart so much misery
I will not break, the way you did, you fell so hard
I’ve learned the hard way to never let it get that far

(chorus)
Because of you I never strayed to far from the sidewalk
Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don?t get hurt
Because of you I find it hard to find it hard to trust, not only me,
but everyone around me, Because of you, I am afraid

I lose my way, and it’s not too long before you point it out
I cannot cry, because I know that’s weakness in your eyes
I’m forced to fake a smile, a laugh, every day of my life
My heart can?t possibly break, when it wasn?t even whole to start with

(chorus)

I watched you die, I heard you cry, every night in your sleep.
I was so young, you should have known better than to lean on me.
You never thought of anyone else you just saw your pain.
And now I cry in the middle of the night, doin the same damn thing

(chorus, but slightly different)
Because of you I never strayed to far from the sidewalk
Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don?t get hurt
Because of you I try my hardest just to forget everything
Because of you I don’t know how to let anyone else in

Because of you I’m ashamed of my life, because its empty
Because of you, I am afraid

Because of you

Because of you

Curiosity

Wednesday, December 7th, 2005

"Mommy, Why is the sky blue?"

"Daddy, How babies are made?"

These are the common questions a curious child would ask and parents are stumpted to answer them. its very weird that we are not bothered to wonder these simple stuff that most children notice. really, why would we wonder that kind of things are so common in life?

Curiousity really can do wonders in not only your life, as well as others. Think about it, if thomas edison never wondered how you can get light without fire, imagine how would our lifes be without lightbulbs. huh, we will be living in the dark ages….

however there is a downside in being curious. Some people are curious about things they shouldn’t know….. that is called being nosy. they know no boundaries…. or things called "private sphere", so they really go to great lengths to know other people’s secrets. well, they are just mere neusance….

well, life is a journey to explore our world that we lived so long and yet know a little about it…… just remember put your noses where it should be…

so, why is the sky blue?
