Cycle of Life

Anyone is a religous Buddhist will fully understand the concept of cycle of life. (I’m no Buddhist, but this is what I know so far) There are 4 stages of life: Birth, Aging, Sickness and finally Death. Obviously these stages of life are expereniced by all human beings, animals as well as plants.

But the main focus here is not about things that are alive, but rather inanimate objects. Surprise, surprise, even things like books, pcs, cars will also go through these stages. Don’t believe me? take a car for an example. Birth: the time that car manufactured from the factory. Age: Mileage. The time spent on the road. Sickness: Times where the car breaks down, or going through wear and tear on the road; and finally death: the moment the car sent to the scrap metal dumps waiting to be crushed in pieces.

Often these things always happen within our lives, and it is telling when some things have to go someday. Some stuff people keep are treasured, and like people, they develop a sense of love towards the object. Yes, when these "treasures" are lost or thrown away, people often miss them like a lost relative. Which relates me when i was young, I have a "security pillow", similiar to Linus Van Pelt’s security blanket. I held on to it for a long time until my mom "killed" it, using its stuffing for another pillows and other things. I have a hard time sleeping without it for a while, slowly I tried to adapt it.

Well, things don’t last as long as we wanted. I think things that last long really go through a lot to remain in this world. It is amazing that jungles and trees can live until 100 years. It is fansinating to find old buildings that can last for at least 100 years untouched though rapid development happens around them. It is just amazing.
